Great Weekend

What a great day Saturday was! I had to wake up early of course because Saturday was THE COLOR RUN!! Woohoo! It was amazing! Here are some pictures because it was so amazing!
We started out all white and clean!
AND THEN!....
It happened!
Things. Got. Real.
AND THEN:
We saw how real it was from behind. AND THEN...
Things started to heat up
Here's me and my Dad. Love it.
Here we gooo!
I have a huge nose. It's a fact.
Cleaned up a little bit but still colorful!
After the Run I went home and cleaned up and then I went to the UNLV game with my Dad and my friend Chase. We won, and it was pretty fun, and my voice still isn't back to 100%
Later that night I went and saw "This means war" which was actually an awesome movie. I would recommend this to EVERYONE for one major reason and here it is:
Chris Pine is just the most gorgeous man who ever lived. Whether he's Captain Kirk or a super foxy spy, you need to see him in everything. And this is no exception,
Then I went to cheesecake factory, and man I loved that place. Anyways, It was an awesome day!! Hoping more days like that will come!!

Double Digits

I just want to mark this occasion, it's kind of big. We have reached double digits, actually, it will be 97 days left tomorrow until Caleb comes home from his mission. Personally, I think that's crazy, because it doesn't feel like there's only three moths left, but it does... but it doesn't. Does that even make sense? Probably not. ANYWAYS, Just so you know, my excitement it overflowing but I'm trying not to let it out, because I know how annoying it can be when you remind someone every day of one thing that is going to happen months from now (I might be talking about the girl I work with... who really knows?)
Side note: The color run is tomorrow, I'll probably post some pictures

Other side note: I think I'm going to go on a road trip with my friend Luisa for Spring break to L.A. I'm pretty stoked.

Big News for the PPC

Yes, it is true. I have been made head of the Party Planning Committee at my work.. Well... Kind of. I am the head of it, but this girl I work with thinks SHE'S the head of the PPC.Anyways, I just wanted to mark this momentous occassion in writing, that I Alexandria Jayd Lupton have accomplished something in my life. If I do nothing else in all my years, today, at this job at Hutchison and Steffen attorneys I plan the potluck parties.
Our first Party is for President's day, because Valentines Day is too mainstream, and obviously I'm too hipster for that.

A tourist in the City I was born in

A couple of weeks ago I went on an adventure on the strip with my friend Luisa. It really was a couple of weeks ago, and I'm barely getting around to blogging about it, but I need to document all the crazy and exciting things I did for the first time.
First off, Luisa's Dad works as the head of Security at Cesar's Palace, so Luisa knows her way around a lot of these hotels. I was glad I went with her, because it was a blast and she knew what to do. We went all over, to the water show and the beautiful gardens at the Bellagio (these are my my most favorite of ANTYHING.) I think we walked the entire miracle mile at least three times, and explored many expensive forum shops. We went and got Gelato at the Bellagio, oh my goodness, it was heaven in a small expensive cup!
We saw the Atlantis show at Cesar's, and we walked all over and saw the craziest people! It was great! Here are some pictures of us!

Luisa and I waiting for the Atlantis show to start
One of the shops was this big art gallery that had all these crazy pictures in it.
This painting was called burning the candle at both ends and there were candles IN the frame.

These two were in front of the huge aquarium at Cesar's Palace

I LOVE the water show AND the gardens!
Luisa and I had a great time! Can't wait to do it again!

Update on Life

I don't know if anyone even reads this blog, but I'm going to update on the goings on in my life anyways, because I haven't done that in a long time.
First of all, the only two things I do on a regular basis lately, are 1. Going to work, I work a LOT. And 2. Watch TV. The amount of TV that I watch would probably scare people, and all parents would scorn me.
So 1.) Work's been pretty intense, I work a LOT of hours, and honestly, some of the people at my work drive me INSANE. But, I know I need to learn to live with that, and hey, they can't work there forever right? Maybe all the annoying people will move away.
2) Television. It is a miracle that netflix was invented, because it is so much better than regular tv.
Another thing that I spend a lot of time doing lately is my Church Calling. I just got called to be on the "Heart 2 Heart" committee, it's pretty cool. It's based on the book A heart like His, by Victoria Pearce, it's an amazing book on how to open our hearts to people, and in turn our hearts will be opened to the savior. One of jobs I have is creating and running the Palmhurst Heart to Heart Committee Blog. The address is here: http://palmhurstheart2heartexperiment.blogspot.com/
If you want to learn more about this amazing book, and the experiment our ward is doing to draw closer to each other and the savior.
COOLEST THING I'M DOING: Today I signed up for my first 5K, it's called the Las Vegas Color Run, you run 3.1 miles, and the whole way they throw handfuls of color all over you, it's awesome, here's a picture from last years, imagine that these pictures have me in them, being super cool and awesome. Because that's what it's all about, oh, and getting cool pictures.
SO. ONE MORE THING, PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER!!!!
CALEB OWENS COMES HOME IN FIVE MONTHS. I just want you all to know how exciting this is, Before Caleb left, and we were talking about how hard it was going to be. Truthfully, it was hard in the beginning, but I reached a point where it started to get easier, and now we're in the final stretch. Love this. I will NOT be updating ever day on how many days he has left though. Because there's a girl at my work who does that, and it's driving me insane. So, just so you know, it's coming up, and I'm happy about it. Thanks. :)

Funny Thing About College

Yeah, The funny thing about college is... I hate it. I can't pinpoint one specific thing about college that I hate, it's really just the whole thing in general. I can't decide if it's just that I stayed here in Vegas or if it's just CSN in general. All I know is every time I walk into my English class I want to punch my teacher in the face and that every speech I hear in Communications makes me care less and less for the people around me. Maybe it's just because the people at CSN are idiots that give speeches about how to make whiskey and I have to read papers about how ghetto someone thinks they are and how many times they've been to jail. I could possibly be hating how I'm paying for a math class that doesn't count toward any Major at all but is required for me to move on, and the teacher teaches for thirty minutes and I leave feeling as tough I'm still paying for another hour while not learning anything.
Something is wrong with this whole college experience. Hopefully I can think positively from here on and not get caught up in how bored I am and how I'm wasting my time.

Haven't been home all day!

Today was a busy day indeed. I left for work at 8:30 and I got home at ten, just to leave again for an hour and a half before coming home!
I ate the most delicious cookie in the world today. Made by a lady in my war and after work I went straight to her house ate my weight in stuffed cookies! (Figuratively) But the stuffed cookie part was NOT a hyperbole. That part was real. And I ate chocolate cookies stuffed with caramel, peanut butter, and peppermint while that sweet sister was perfecting recipes. It was awesome. This is her sign.
It's so cute! And they are DElicious!
After eating like fifty cookies I went and babysat today. And two of the three kids were sick, so I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up tomorrow with the flu. But hey, I was babysitting for my boss, and saying no just wasn't an option.
Birthday. So, Some birthday stuff going on last week. Last Friday to be exact.
It was my birthday and we did some pretty exciting things. Mainly we went to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. And it was a-MAZ-ing! I seriously enjoyed every second of it! We also went to Olive garden and my Dad and I had a contest on who could eat more endless pasta bowl.... He won.
Here's a picture of Jackie and I after the show.
A sideways picture of Jackie with a Phantom sign
I did get a surprise at work on my birthday that was pretty exciting! Flowers!
Yes flowers from Caleb Owens. He had his Mom get them, and he made sure that she got white roses because they're my favorite. How awesome of him to remember
So as you can see. Life is going going on. And maybe I'll get around to writing more on my blog now that I have no social life.

Lunch Time

It's my lunch hour here at work, and as I can't make any calls until about 1:30 when I know that other offices will be back from lunch, I thought I'd take this time to write a post. Here's an update on what's going down lately.

I work every day, and actually got in trouble on Monday for working too much. I worked too many hours and was violating labor laws because I'm only a part time emplyee... Somehow even thought I work 7 hours a day! I actually got in trouble on Monday for working too much! I guess I was violating Labor laws!

School Starts on the 29th! And then I'll be juggleing School and work together! But I've set it up so I'm taking some night classes, and I really only have one hard class (Biology) everything else should be a peice of cake! I got my Biology class! If I didn't get this class I would have sadly been a whole semester behind on my Dental hygiene goal, and luckily I got in, and am very pleased with that!

So that Kid Caleb, Yeah, I'm still you know, writing him, waiting for him, whatever you want to call it. And all is well, so Now I'm going to go and finish work, Have a good day everyone.

New Job

It is true, I now have a new job! At Hutchison and Steffen Attorney's, and it rocks! Of course, my duties are copying... I do a lot of that, about half my time is that actually, and then rest of the time, I'm staring at a computer screen and printing out even more papers! But it's awesome, really! I'm a paralegal's assistant, and I have my own desk that I will decorate any way I want, and my boss is the second counselor in my ward. He's a really nice boss, and I'm glad I get to work with him, even if he is totally crazy. The other day he said his mutant powers would be "Awesomeness and Sex appeal." So weird. But funny. And, I get to sit on a rolly chair when I'm not making copies, and wear fancy clothes, AND they have free donuts and bagels on Fridays, I think this job was meant for me.
Also another sign that my childhood is over, I got a calling this last week! I am the liaison between the young women's, primary, and the Relief society. So, there we go, a real calling, set apart and everything.

Day 30! :)

I took this really fast... and it's not a very good picture, but anyways, three good things that have happened since I started this 30 day challenge thing.
1: I got to talk to Caleb and see him... that was awesome.
2: Christmas happened, and I love Christmas!
3. I knitted some pretty skillful hats. :)

Things to Do:

1. Figure out what's going on with the Stupid BYU Independent study course I'm taking because it's all too confusing for my liking.
2. Call CSN and find out what's happening there... because I'm so in the dark of what I need to do.
3. Do the giant pile of homework I have for Mr. Mast and Trig.
4. Write a good, thoughtful, and exciting letter to Caleb.
5. Give Maren, Raquel, and Luisa their Christmas presents.
6. Put together the cool video I'm making about Zeus because he's a cool little guy.
7. Think of some resolutions because the new year is coming faster and FASTER!
8. I need to start being less stressed about things, because when I'm stressed I tend to get even less done than when I'm slacking off. Not cool.

Day 29!

Something I could never get tired of doing.
If I could keep knitting... forever, I would be very Happy. It relaxes me and makes me forget about anything that take up space in my mind and stresses me out. Thank you Sister Owens for teaching me how! :)

Day 28!

My favorite movie... Hmm, This one is hard because I like so many movies! I went and saw Tangled today with Jackie so I will say that Tangled is my new favorite movie! It was so cute, and Zachary Levi played Flinn, and I love him!! :) It was good for all ages, and I liked it just as... Probably more than old Disney movies! :)

Day 27!

Me last year:
.This was a picture of me on Christmas day one year ago! I have changed a lot since then, my hair is longer and I have different glasses (even though I wasn't wearing them in this picture anyway.) Caleb's gone, and I reallllly don't care about school as compared to my just a little not caring about it. Other than that though, nothing has really changed, but if you look at like, the two things that changed, that's basically my whole life different. Odd what one year can do.
